The rooms and other facilities were nice and clean. Plenty of kitchen tools etc so nobody had to do without even when busy. Jozine – Netherlands. 11 December 2016. The location was great, easy to park and close to everything.

Jay – Australia.

Clean facility (nice big kitchen - fully equipped), friendly staff, free wifi and laundry. :) They even have a sign in/out sheet for solo hikers which I thought was a thoughtful touch!

We took the en-suite private room. The beds comfortable and the sheets are clean. The hostel is 5min walk to the train and bus stations, easy access (echo points/scenic world). Easy short walk (max 10 mins) into the town, where you find Woolworth, Coles and Target. Samantha – Malaysia. 03 December 2016. Very clean and comfortable room. Well equipped communal kitchen with plenty of fridge space. Good location near centre of town. Lots of information and maps available about the area.

Tracey – United Kingdom.

A large hostel which manages to keep everything nice and clean for everyone. Very nice staff and I had a very neat room. Sydney, Australia. 24 November 2016. The hostel was clean and close to the train station. Staff are super friendly. There's a big kitchen if you want to cook food and plenty of space in the fridges. Overall good place to stay.

“Hip atmosphere and great location on a budget”. BMBH is located 5 min walk from Katoomba train station, in the city center close to the pubs, restaurants and a Coles supermarket. As the place offers both dorms and double rooms, all kinds of travellers can be spotted here. The communal kitchen is big and useful, table soccer and pool in the lobby and games and a guitar are available to borrow from the friendly smiling staff. The double rooms are satisfying, not big but includes en-suite bathroom.

Gal – Israel.

Best value for money. The kitchen is very well equipped and all common areas included bathrooms are very clean. I would highly recommend to stay here.

Kathi – Switzerland.

Location was perfect for what we wanted to do (see a band at a local venue). Price was good, room large, quiet and warm (it was a cold night outside). Parking right outside. It was close to station if we had needed to get train.

Jason – Australia.

Staff is too friendly to think your staying here is real. :) They are good in any situation from using the kitchen and laundry after the allowed time to midnight when they are helping you to find something. A lot of bonuses which we overlooked during booking like free laundry, kitchen (really huge kitchen!!!) and things for leisure (personally we didn't used this things, but many people did and this creates unique atmosphere here).

Gennadii – Ukraine.

Great location, right by the train station, and not much of a walk down to Eco Point or the scenic walk way. Overall it's a value hostel, has lockers, comfy beds, and free washing facilities, nice little stay for a couple of days on a budget.

A breath of fresh air for someone who's been staying in hostels for awhile... FREE laundry, FREE internet, clean, giant lockers, good location, helpful staff, awesome kitchen. probably the best hostel ive ever stayed in for this value! would definitely return!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Actually we planed to stay for only two nights in the hostel but in the end it was for 9 nights because Wochenende extended three times.

There is so much to see and the hostel is just perfect. The kitchen and the dorms are big and Wifi and laundry is for free. I definitely can recommend this hostel (and already did a lot)!

10 out of 10 might seem to be to good to be true, but this place deserves it.

For real, this has been the best hostel I've stayed in so far. Even though I didn't expect the 12 person dormatory to be that great, it has just been amazing. Everything was super tidy, it smelled super clean and the bed was really good too! My compliments to the staff who are keeping the place really neat and tidy and are always willing to help out.

By far the best backpackers that I have stayed at in Australia, and I've been here for a year now. Unbelievably clean, loads of free stuff (the only place I've seen free laundry in the country), huge comfy communal area with plasma TV, movies, log fire, free pool and beanbags. Good upstairs BBQ area and decent bathrooms. The girl behind reception was very friendly. Can't fault it! If I had to be REALLY REALLY picky there is no free breakfast that a lot of other places offer.

Great spot, easy and helpful

Stayed one night here and saw wentworth and katoomba falls. The girl Sam behind the desk was very helpful as to the surrounding hikes and eateries. Great place!

Stayed on a one bunk two person room. They have a nice outdoor patio and great free facilities and common room as well.

A very good hostel. I liked it so much that I even extended my stay. Great value for the money.

Welcoming, friendly, helpful staff.

Resources and costs that we have not experienced in uk youth hostels. Whilst in australia we have stayed in beach houses, hotels but my children still say their favourite accommodation was your hostel!

April 2014 via Hostelbookers

Free laundry, internet, nice living room area with fire place, nice staff, friendly etc

Lovely and close to amenities

We had a private room, no ensuite. The room was of a good size and didn't face the railway line. Common areas brilliant, and kitchen large enough so you don't feel in a hurry to cook your food. It's great to find a hostel in Australia which offers free wifi and crockery. Found it very clean and extremely welcoming.

Perfect location for the three sisters and scenic world. Would defiantly stay again if ever in the blue mountains.

Very Good night in this backpacker!

A few meters from Katoomba train station, which is rather convenient! The prices are very reasonable, the beds are comfortable, the dortoires own, the backpacker has all the necessary amenities (showers for each dormitory, common showers, kitchen, common room with pool table, fireplace etc ... ). I stayed there for a very good night and I am very satisfied!

April 2014 via Hostelworld

It is not easy to find a comfortable, affordable place to stay for a family of 6.We had an excellent stay. Love the laundry room with 4 active, grotty boys!

My best hostel experience since arriving in Australia 3 months ago. The atmosphere was very enjoyable and relaxed, the kitchen area was large and well-stocked with utensils, and the private lockers for each guest was a bonus. The staff was friendly, and the cleanliness was far above most other hostels. Also conveniently located just a block or two from the Katoomba train station.

May 2014 via Hostelworld

Central location right opposite the train station, very friendly & very clean hostel. The dorms were absolutely huge with big lockers. Lots of different types of people here. Never stayed anywhere with free clothes washing like here, free wifi & lots of games, free pool to keep entertained. Defintely recomend this place.

Great place to stay if visiting the Blue Mountains

Very clean, super friendly staff. Free Laundry and drying, free Internet & locker with locks. Very close to the train station, I stayed in a room with 8 other bunk beds and large bathroom attached.

Really enjoyed my stay, the staff were very helpful, just beside a bottle shop to pick up a few beers and just around the corner on the Main Street there is a Coles to get groceries which can be BBQ or cooked in the large kitchen with all utensils required at backpackers hostel. Highly recommend it!

Best place to stay when in the Blue Mountains

With this hostel being the first place to start when I have come to beautiful Katoomba and the Blue Mountains, it was the warmest and nicest welcome I could just have imagined - and this in the center of Katoomba in walking distance to everything you need, no matter if it is shopping, going out for a beer or having a look at the Three Sisters.

The building itself is very clean and inviting, especially when you go inside. There is a huge open space where you can meet other backpackers from all over the world and share your experiences with them, either in the huge kitchen that has everything you need for cooking, from pots to pans, spices and even bread, or in the huge living space which is the most comfortable common room I have seen so far. My personal advice: get yourself settled after a long day in front of the fire place, that was incredibly awesome before spring temperatures started to get warmer.

Staff is amazingly friendly and helped my boyfriend and me to get the most out of our short term stay in Katoomba with excellent recommendations for walking tracks and activities. We spent the night in a 12 people dorm, very clean with ensuite bathroom and lockers for each one of us, where everyone respected the others, so we had a really calm and relaxing night.

I definitely recommend staying at the Blue Mountains Backpacker Hostel when travelling to the Blue Mountains - along all my travels, this is the best hostel I have stayed with so far.
